Looking Back: Best 2020 Startup Business

Best Startup 2020 winner Juice and Flowers Co. LLC was a dream of CEO and Founder Quincy Duckworth.  During the Impact Pitch competition, Quincy pitched the idea of a cold-pressed juice truck in the heart of Tacoma, WA.  However, as with most startups, the launch has been a journey.

Plans Ripening Over TimeMay be an image of drink

Initially, Juice & Flowers planned to open a cold-pressed juice truck serving a minimal breakfast and our cold-pressed juice. However, those plans changed during the exploration and permitting process - the amount of water needed to sell juice on a food truck was too great. In the meantime, Juice & Flowers launched an e-commerce site to take orders and serve the community.  Now, Juice and Flowers Co. LLC is working to scale into a storefront/manufacturing facility by the end of 2021. "Although the business has changed, the good news is that we are planning our curated pop-up schedule for Pierce and King County, and we have plans to be at your local farmers market soon," says Quincy.

The Juice is Worth the Squeeze

2020 Impact Pitch Finalist, Quincy Duckworth, owner of Juice & FlowersQuincy is inspired by his community and works hard to give back.  A 2022 goal is a collaboration with other businesses to create healthy food options.  Juice and Flowers hopes to build a roadmap for providing nutritious breakfast options to those who need it the most. "Creating campaigns and rallying behind Health and Wealth, we feel we can do more with less."

Quincy remains optimistic. "As a new business launching during a pandemic year, [it's] sure had its ups and downs, inspirations, and let downs."  But the journey continues as they roll out their products, services, and community involvement.
