MBDA Business Opportunity Specialist

Position Summary

The MBDA Business Opportunity Specialists are responsible for providing technical assistance to Minority Business Enterprises (MBE)s with the goal of helping them to grow their businesses. They serve as connectors, mentors, advisors, and teachers, assisting in all aspects of growing a business. Assistance may range from general counseling to identifying, analyzing, and resolving specific business problems, quality referrals to internal and partner resources, and facilitating and connecting capital, procurement, and partnership opportunities. Business Opportunity Specialists have the passion and tools to help MBE business owners take their businesses to the next level.

Business Impact NW is looking to hire two (2) Business Opportunity Specialists. One will be specialized in the construction industry with a strong knowledge of running a construction business and the construction industry.

Business Coach and Trainer – Alaska Women’s Business Center

Position Summary

Business coaches and trainers serve as mentors, advisors, and teachers providing assistance in all aspects of starting and growing a business. Business coaches offer confidential one-on-one counseling in the area of start-up, business plan development, analysis and preparation of actual and projected financial statements, marketing to increase sales, and more. Assistance may range from general counseling to the identification, analysis, and resolution of specific business problems.

The business coach provides assistance in creating record keeping systems and assists clients with market related activities such as advertising, promotion, market surveys, sales, and other related small business needs. They provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with the technical skills, training, and resources they need to start, sustain, and improve their businesses. This position will also be responsible for providing trainings in multiple locations and to multiple entrepreneurs at various stages in their business development. This position will report to the AWBC Director.

Small Business Underwriter

Position Summary

Underwriters review new and renewal credit requests comprised of working capital lines of credit, commercial real estate loans (Owner Occupied) and equipment financing; most often from small to moderate small businesses and start-ups [with revenues less than 3 million]. They collaborate with loan officers to accurately present findings, including business rationale and risk mitigations, in order to obtain credit approval and meet customer needs.
