Director of Development

Position Summary

The Director of Development is responsible for leading the Development Department and directing day-to-day fundraising at Business Impact NW. This position includes overseeing public and foundation grants, events, sponsorships, corporate giving, and fundraising campaigns. Heading the Development Department, this position works to financially sustain the programs and operations of Business Impact NW - a nonprofit dedicated to growing small businesses that create jobs in underserved communities. This position reports to the Chief Strategic Development Officer (CSDO).

Loan Officer (Alaska Based)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Credit Officer, the Loan Officer is responsible for all steps in the lending process, from loan originations and credit underwriting, through booking, funding and servicing, as well as performance management. The Loan Officer is also responsible for loan workouts, restructures and recoveries, write-offs, as applicable. The position handles all aspects of credit administration in accordance with BIN’s loan and risk management policies.

Experience with SME lending to underserved, minority communities is essential to help improve the financial inclusion of many under-banked small businesses who comprise the BIN client loan portfolio. Candidates with at least 2 years of experience in SBA 7a loans will be given a preference.

The Loan Officer is part of the lending department team and works very closely with the other loan officers, the portfolio manager, loan accountant, documentation specialist, and the business coaches on the technical assistance team. The Loan Officer fosters professional and compassionate relationships with clients and coworkers. They also develop and maintain strong relationships with community and government organizations and have considerable experience working with culturally diverse business owners.

Small Business Underwriter

Position Summary

The Small Business Underwriter will analyze business industry, financial data, and other supporting credit information concerning an applicant's credit request; identifying key business and financial risks that may impact the repayment prospects by the borrower, and derive conclusions supporting the credit recommendation based on documented facts and/or sound judgment.

Loan Readiness Officer (Portland Based)

Position Summary

This position will support Business Impact NW’s new Loan Readiness Program. Loan Readiness officers work closely with the lending department and business training programs to support Business Impact NW's mission to increase lending to traditionally underserved business owners. This position will primarily work one-on-one with clients and include curriculum development, curriculum delivery, lending intake support, and community outreach.

When ready to apply for a loan, this position will help package the loan for full underwriting at Business Impact NW. From loan origination and underwriting through funding, servicing, and performance management. Further, this position will conduct outreach and engagement into underserved communities in the Portland metro area and work with our local partners to provide loan readiness services.
