Board of Directors

The Board of Directors supports the mission of Business Impact NW as a governing body.

Preferences:

  2. Reflection of mission diversity, including persons of color, women, veterans, immigrants/refugees, and LGBTQ+ strongly desired
  3. Finance, Accounting, Fundraising, Legal, Community Connections or Business Ownership background preferred.

 

Development Committee

The Development Committee supports the Board of Directors and the overall organization through fundraising and outreach initiatives.

Overview:

  1. Support the staff Director of Development & Communication's Annual Fundraising Plan
  2. Provide fundraising leadership through personally significant annual gift
  3. Refer or solicit support through foundations, corporations, or individuals for programming, operations, and/or capital investments
  4. Support board fundraising tasks and training

Composition and Terms:

  • Minimum of three members, from community and/or board and staff
  • The Director of Development is assigned to serve on the committee
  • One Board member will be the board liaison and may or may not be the committee chair
  • Committee Chair will lead the committee, directly supporting the work of the Director of Development
  • Terms will be one year, with opportunity to serve additional terms
  • Committee will meet monthly with option to meet bi-monthly in 2019. (Mondays or Tuesdays in the morning). Meetings will alternate between virtual and in-person.
  • Time commitment: 1-3 hours per month, with each member attending and participating in meetings.

  3. Fundraising, business ownership, communications, community leader background is of interest, but no previous expereince is required.  A strong passion for small business being a catalyst for economic opportunity is all that is required.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee supports the accounting and budget of Business Impact NW and serves as a liason to the Board of Directors, supporting the organization mission.
