Community Partners

Small businesses often have limited options for affordable financing when they are ready to grow, especially if they are relatively new, need a relatively small loan or are part of a population that is under-served by traditional lenders. In partnership with universities and credit unions, Business Impact NW has created a deliberate, stepped process, combining capacity building with low-cost business loans. By increasing your knowledge of business management, you’ll be better prepared to successfully grow with the help of a microloan.

Educational Partner Programs

The Consulting and Business Development Center at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business

The Consulting and Business Development Center takes business education out of the classroom and puts it to work in communities across Washington.
Through the Consulting and Business Development Center’s programs, students build skills and gain experience in consulting and solving business challenges. The students provide valuable consulting to small businesses and non-profit organizations in underserved communities. Business owners and non-profit leaders gain access to business education that creates jobs and changes lives.

Portland State University School of Business Administration’s Business Outreach Program

The PSU Business Outreach Program's mission is to help local small businesses, including emerging, minority and women-owned businesses, achieve their potential while providing students with opportunities for community based learning. Typical services and types of assistance available through the PSU BOP program range from individual advising, to workshops and trainings and student consulting team projects.

Credit Union Partners

The credit union philosophy of "people helping people" goes hand-in-hand with another core operating principle of social responsibility. By focusing in the areas of community giving and support, BECU hopes to spur financial empowerment in all individuals; when financial goals are reached, together we can strengthen the economic impact in our communities. We support organizations that work in financial education and entrepreneurial development, and especially efforts that address a combination of both.

Harborstone Credit Union

Credit unions exist to provide financial services for the purpose of improving lives. While our first responsibility is to our members, we are committed to looking beyond our walls to the larger community. This philosophy leads us to support worthwhile charitable and social causes and to work with other credit unions. In addition to our participation in local community events, we are involved in several Chambers of Commerce to help promote community growth and involvement.

OnPoint Credit Union

OnPoint Community Credit Union is Oregon's largest CU. We’re in the business to serve our members so we give back the revenues we earn– through lower fees & better rates– to our community. Federally Insured by NCUA Equal Housing Lender.

Verity Credit Union

Credit unions began as a way for local communities to band together for the good of the group. We're getting back to those roots. We invest our time and resources in the neighborhoods where we have branches. At Verity, it isn't about being as big as possible, it's about doing our best for our members and helping our communities grow and thrive.
