SUMMARY:“Ready to Sell” Farm E-Commerce
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this course is to provide you with the tools and resources to develop an effective online presence through which you will be able to connect with new customers\, build and maintain customer relationships\, grow your individual brand identity and integrate e-commerce in to your sales plan. The course content includes insight\, advice\, and trainings from industry leaders and experienced business owners through recorded interviews and presentations\, as well as options and information in regards to software and e-commerce platforms for farmers. \nThe course is divided in to 4 sections\, followed by a Marketing Tools section which includes additional video workshops and marketing toolkits that may be helpful in your strategic marketing plans. This is a self-paced course\, and can be repeated or re-watched as needed. It is recommended to start at the beginning and work though the sections as they are presented.

DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to start hiring employees now or in the near future and want to better understand payroll? In this presentation\, accountant Jocelyn Campbell covers the essentials around payroll for farmers in Washington state. Topics include new hire forms\, payroll requirements (e.g. sick leave\, overtime\, state and federal taxes)\, how to categorize employees\, and a brief overview of payroll systems. Please contact fbrc@businessimpactnw.org for more information. \nThank you to the WA State Department of Agriculture who helped fund this presentation through their Specialty Crop Block Grant.  \n  \nAbout the presenter \nJocelyn grew up and raised her two kids in the woodsy suburbs of Seattle. Her passion for sustainability led her to spend 7 years in Montana helping to manage a 220-acre permaculture education site. As of mid-2020\, Jocelyn is joyfully back in the Seattle area\, growing her accounting business\, gardening\, and pushing farm-to-table food onto her friends and family. In her corporate days\, Jocelyn was the accounting manager for the builder of an urban village designed community. There\, she gained valuable experience with annual corporate audits\, non-profit accounting\, and learned that some corporations really do walk the talk of a triple bottom line. Now\, Jocelyn’s favorite businesspeople are the mom-and-pops\, family owners\, or solopreneurs – especially those with small farms and non-profits. Three years ago\, Emily (Jocelyn’s daughter)\, and one year ago\, Melinda\, (Jocelyn’s friend for decades – we won’t say how long!) joined the team that is Alchemilla Services LLC to provide bookkeeping and payroll services in addition to Jocelyn’s QuickBooks consulting.
