SUMMARY:Value Added Processing from Farm Kitchen to Wholesale Shelves
DESCRIPTION:Did you make a value-added product from this year’s harvest? Or market leftovers? Curious about taking it to the next level? Value Added Processing from Farm Kitchen to Wholesale Shelves walks farmers through the key steps to take a farm-based product from farmstand and market sales to wholesale shelves. Participants will review value-added production options — from processing ease and capacity— before exploring sales outlets\, production collaborations\, and what is required to take a product into wholesale sales from packaging & labeling requirements to strategies for building lasting wholesale relationships. Drawing on real-world experience and stories from farmers and makers\, this interactive session helps participants assess whether their value-added production is truly wholesale-ready\, and leave with practical next steps to get — and keep — their products on store shelves. \nPresenter: Hannah Kullberg is a founder\, coach\, and community connector with extensive experience supporting farmers and food and beverage entrepreneurs building value-added product lines. She founded the PNW Packaged Food & Beverage Group and previously co-founded The Better Bean Company and Community Co-Pack\, bringing firsthand experience in food business development\, manufacturing\, and growth. Hannah runs her own small market and cut flower farm in Silverton\, Oregon\, and is a Portland Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree. \nThis workshop will be presented in-person at: The Launch Pad\, 218 SW G St\, Grants Pass\, OR 97526 \nFunding Acknowledgement: \nFunding for this workshop was made possible by a grant/cooperative agreement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the USDA \nCost Statement: \nThere is no cost to attend.
