Growing into Wholesale guides food and beverage entrepreneurs through the key steps to prepare\, position\, and holistically sell packaged products to wholesale buyers. Drawing on real-world experience and stories from packaged food makers\, this interactive session will help participants assess their readiness for wholesale\, and identify practical next steps to get—and keep—their products on store shelves. \nPresenter: Hannah Kullberg is a founder\, coach\, and community connector with extensive experience supporting farmers and food and beverage entrepreneurs building value-added product lines. DESCRIPTION:9/4/2026: This class is full and only accepting waitlist registrations. \nGrow & Thrive is a structured mentor program with expert guidance & advice\, perfect for any business owner who wants to take their business to the next level.  Participants create a strategy for growth by charting a path to future success with 3–5-year objectives working with their current financial statements\, operating manuals\, marketing materials\, etc. You will also identify issues and improve your business model and evaluate current operations to determine your path for growth. The course will conclude with pitch presentations\, presented before a panel of business professionals. \nThis course is designed for business owners who have been in business at least a year and are averaging over $25\,000 in annual sales or have completed the Launch & Grow program. Through seven\, 3-hour sessions held over a 12-week period\, business owners work with subject-area experts to design a plan to strategically grow their business. Additionally\, they are paired with mentors and business coaches for further guidance and support. Grow & Thrive is an opportunity to share\, learn\, and network with other successful business owners in a small cohort setting. \nThis opportunity is designed to be an immersive program and is a paid course. Class fee is $399 for the course including materials. \nEach participant can expect to budget 9-12 hours per session to ensure success in this class—this includes 3 hours of class time and 7-9 hours of “pre- & post- session work” outside of class. SUMMARY:Business Expert Session: Basics of Hiring Employees with Washington Department of LNI and Seattle Office of Labor Standards
DESCRIPTION:This course provides an overview of the most up-to-date information and requirements for what you need to know as a small business owner with employees – or if you will soon be hiring – in both the State of Washington as well as in the City of Seattle. \nWashington’s Labor & Industries Department and Seattle’s Office of Labor Standards will help guide you through the basics\, including providing some additional resources to support compliance with these laws and a Q&A session following the course to help answer your specific questions. \nBusiness Impact NW is proud to partner with the Seattle Office of Labor Standards (OLS) to provide outreach and education about Seattle’s labor standards. \nWe will discuss: \n\nMinimum Wage\nPaid Sick & Safe Time (PSST)\nFair Chance Employment\nWage Theft\nCommuter Benefits\nAdditional standards that apply to Seattle based businesses.\n\nAbout the Presenters \nMaggie Hammond – Assistant Small Business Liaison\, Department of Labor & Industries \n \nMaggie has been working with Labor and Industries since January 2024. Now serving as the State Director of the Idaho Women’s Business Center\, Paige specializes in helping startups and small businesses with strategic planning\, financials\, and navigating business transactions\, while also advocating for community building and inclusivity through her nonprofit work with organizations like the Culture for Change Foundation and Gr8ter. Paige is an Idaho native and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Boise State University.  In her free time\, she enjoys traveling\, staying active\, and exploring the outdoors with her family and two dogs. \nSusan Beard\, Director of Partnerships and Business Development at Northwest Nazarene UniversitySusan Beard is the Director of Partnerships & Business Development through the Center for Professional Development at Northwest Nazarene University. The Center for Professional Development offers both team and online training specifically geared toward the business community. In addition\, Susan is working closely with NNU’s new 92 credit Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
