The course is designed to provide you with the skills and information you can use to start a business or manage an established business. The online course, based on our successful in-person course, is now available anywhere in the state of Washington! This course cost $399. The course has two available rebates totaling $200 for participants who meet the rebate requirements. Thus making your total possible cost $199 after rebates! (see our FAQ for more information) The online version of Launch and Grow is currently not an approved SEAP class. Our online offering of this class in 2020 will be SEAP approved. At the end of this 7-week course, you will have the tools you need to understand the feasibility of your business venture and write your business plan. The time commitment required is estimated at 10 hours per week of OnDemand curriculum and homework plus 1.5 hours of online LIVE class instruction. Engaged students who follow the class exercises and do the homework can expect to walk away with a draft of a business plan. Each week we will release readings, videos, exercises, and homework that will help you develop your business plan. In addition to the week’s materials, there is a 1.5 hour LIVE online webinar. These webinars will include discussions about the week’s topics and be a chance for students to ask instructors specific questions.
Week I: Planning: What is an entrepreneur? What does it mean to be a business owner? Feasibility and business planning. Key components of a business plan, leadership and business ethics.
Week II: Products and Services: Products/Services Price Distribution/Place Features versus Benefits USP Competitive Matrix
Week III: Marketing Part 1: Industry Customer Competition SWOT Analysis
Week IV: Marketing Part 2: Components of marketing strategy, including: An in-depth look at social media marketing and budget strategies.
Week V: Financial Planning Part 1: Understanding Financial Statements Record-keeping Chart of Accounts and Financial Ratios.
Week VI: Financial Planning Part 2: Cash flow projection Financing options The 5 “C”s of Lending Week VII: Growth Human Resource Management Contractor vs. Employee Growing Your Business Group Presentations
