About the Presenter:
Laurie Gelb – Profit by Change
Laurie and her late husband opened and subsequently sold a used book store in Houston. Since then, she has worked about 50/50 on the client and agency sides, combining market research, clinical publications, business strategy/branding, and content development, including early UX/IA punditry. She is now an independent consultant, often working with tech clients, and a volunteer mentor for social enterprises and other startups in Seattle and worldwide. Laurie has served as a Vice President at three leading global market research firms, helping to launch varied products and brands. Other past employers include Bodypoint, which designs and manufactures products in Seattle; Sanofi; and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. B2B/C/E/G client examples include Amtrak, Bank of America, Caregility, King County, Majestic Athletic, and Wayback Burgers. She holds a BA in Philosophy/Business and a Master’s degree in Public Health.
